The following are the recommended system requirements
for hosting Adaptive's products. However, if you are deploying Adaptive
onto a personal user environment, please click

Version 4.2.x
Database Server
Adaptive utilizes Oracle® via a JDBC connection
and as such there are no specific hardware requirements for the server
it runs on, beyond those that the database requires.
For best performance, Adaptive recommends a dedicated
server with the following configuration:
- Quad CPU 3 GHz processors
- 4GB RAM
- Fast disk/network I/O (and disk speed) (possibly RAID
for availability)
- 10GB disk for storage of data (typically on RAID)
Operating System:
- Windows® 2000
- Windows® Server 2003
- Linux
- Sun Solaris
Database:
- Oracle® 9i (9.2, 9.2.0.6 recommended)
- Oracle® 10g (10.2.0.1) including Oracle® 10g

Web Application Server
Adaptations are written entirely in Java™ and
utilize the services of JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3 compliant Web Application
Servers. Again, as such, we have no specific requirements on the hardware
platform other than those of the Web Application Server software itself.
A typical web application server might be:
- Dual CPU 1.8 GHz
- 2Gb RAM or higher
- 5Gb Hard Disk space
Adaptations have been validated against the following:
Application Server:
- Apache Tomcat 5.0.X – 5.5.X and 6.0
- BEA™ WebLogic 8.1 SP4
- IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.1.1.11 and 6.1.0.9
Compliant with Java 5 or 6 JRE.
*Please note that Sun JDK 1.4.2_12 contains a bug and
should be avoided.

LDAP Integration for Authentication:
LDAP is used as standard but we have specifically tested
against the following:
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory 2000 (SP3)/2003
- Sun Directory Server 5

- Internet Explorer 5.5 (SP2 or higher)+, Internet
Explorer 6.0, or Internet Explorer 7.0

Adaptive Visio Techniques:
Visio 2003 + Windows Client Integration Software (see
separate entry).
Adaptive Excel Integration:
Excel 2002/2003 + Windows Client Integration software

Windows Client Integration:
MSSOAP 3.0 (which includes MSXML 4.0), or MS Office
SOAP 2003
Java Client Integration:
Java 1.4 or Java 5 JRE
Metamodel Development:
Requires Java JDK 5 or 6
Adaptive Designer™
Adaptive Designer™ is provided in a self installing
package, requiring the following minimum system configuration:
- Windows XP, 1 CPU 2GHz, 512MB RAM, 10GB disk space
- Windows Client Integration software (see separate
entry)
Adaptive Integrator™
- Apache Tomcat 5.5 and 6.0 only
- Linux/Solaris support (on request) for bridges that do not require
Windows APIs
- Requires JRE 5.0 or 6.0
- 2 GB RAM (depending upon size of extract processing)
Adaptive Relational Access Module™ (RAM)
- Optional Java JSP 1.2/Servlet 2.3 compatible application
server for UI
- Java command-line execution using Java 1.4, 5 or 6
Database &
