Adaptive Announces IT Portfolio Manager Quick
Start Package - Take Control of your IT Assets in Just 3 Months!
Reduce Costs, Identify Redundancy, Optimize Resources
Enforce IT Governance, Build Collaboration, Enable Business Continuity
March 14, 2006 - Adaptive, Inc., a
leading provider of Enterprise Architecture Repository solutions,
today announced a new IT Portfolio Manager Quick Start Package that
enables IT managers to rapidly assume management control of their
IT assets in just 3 months thereby realizing significant financial
benefits. The ITPM Quick Start Package is designed to quickly capture
and communicate an accurate and integrated view of an organization’s
portfolio of applications and the software and hardware assets they
depend on.
This Quick Start Package incorporates Adaptive IT Portfolio
Manager™ (ITPM), a web-based application for the management
of IT assets installed either on-site or via an ASP model. Adaptive
ITPM provides dynamic views and real-time analysis of the inter-dependencies
and relationships between projects, applications, interfaces, data,
infrastructure, business processes, products and organization structure.
Adaptive ITPM is built on the open, standards-based, enterprise scalable
Adaptive Foundation™ repository platform. Adaptive Foundation
provides comprehensive repository capabilities including versioning,
role-based security, web-based updating and collaboration, and is
the most thoroughly and easily extensible enterprise architecture
repository in the market.
IT managers are constantly seeking to understand the
interdependencies of their IT assets so they can better respond to
changing events. To do this effectively they must be able to find
the answers to specific questions that often take considerable time
and involve multiple systems and staff members. The Adaptive ITPM
Quick Start Package will enable IT managers to quickly and correctly
answer critical questions such as:
- What applications support an organization unit, and where are
the applications deployed?
- What business processes does an application support, and which
application version is being used in each case?
- What databases are used by an application, and which DBMS does
each database depend on?
- Who supports an organization’s servers or applications?
And it needn’t be complicated, or time consuming.
Organizations often have this information already but it’s scattered
all over the place in various spreadsheets, databases and tools. With
Adaptive ITPM, the information can be imported from these existing
sources and then captured in a consistent format, coordinated, controlled,
shared and communicated with relevant stakeholders. Once this information
is integrated in the Adaptive ITPM repository, sophisticated analysis
capabilities are available to perform impact analysis to assess the
implications of the failure of an IT asset, or the introduction of
new technology. In addition, having a holistic view of an organization’s
IT assets and their use to support business applications, enables
the discovery of redundancies and non-compliance with IT policies,
standards or architecture.
Having accurate and real-time access to this critical
information will produce significant benefits such as:
- Reduced project planning man-hours
- Eliminate the need for redundant IT asset data gathering activities
- Retain essential IT architecture information from key individuals
- Improved IT governance
The ITPM Quick Start Package employs a proven project
methodology that focuses on quickly delivering tangible business benefits
that will get the attention of stakeholders and management throughout
an enterprise. Experienced Adaptive consultants with real-world expertise
will work side-by-side with the client team, to produce meaningful
and valuable results within 3 months. This repeatable project methodology
also provides the client team with the training and mentoring that
enables them to take ownership of the working repository of their
IT assets when the project has completed.
When the ITPM Quick Start is complete, an organization
is able to dynamically update its repository of IT assets through
the role-based web browser interface so that the information stays
current. As a next step, automated data transformations and imports
from existing data and modelling sources can be developed using Adaptive’s
unique Transformation Engine that is accessible from a web services
interface. Having a centralized, interactive and up-to-date “system
of record” for IT assets will eliminate the errors and wasted
time and effort from the non-integrated mechanisms organizations are
using today to track IT assets.
The Adaptive ITPM Quick Start Package includes product
licenses, full training and on-site consulting services. In addition,
Adaptive provides the transformation capability to import/export and
integrate information from a very wide range of existing sources,
including Peregrine AssetCenterŽ, MS ExcelŽ and MS VisioŽ templates.
An option is also available for customers to use the Adaptive ASP
offering, which hosts the software at Adaptive’s secure data
center, and eliminates the overhead of installation and administration.
