Senior Solution Architect
Adaptive Information Delivery Services for the Western United
States
Adaptive is looking to hire an experienced Senior Solution Architect
to join the team, representing our company in the Western region of
the United States. We are looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented
individual who will be responsible for building software solutions
to meet client needs in the area of metadata and related initiatives.
This will mostly involve model-driven configuration rather than writing
code. The role centers around providing consultancy in the implementation
of business solutions leveraging a foundation metadata repository
and an application tier based on Java, XML, and other web technology,
using open standards and meta-models, driving implementation of Model
Driven Architecture (MDA) solutions.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in distributed computing
environments including messaging architectures, web services, mainframe
computing, database and data movement tools and technologies, and
enterprise integration practices. Experience in financial or insurance
industries would be an advantage. Candidates should be excellent team
players, capable of leading the efforts of both technical and business
people across multiple geographies, and able to manage multiple projects
at once. Candidate must be resident in the Western Region of the United
States or be willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Researches, designs, and delivers software deployments
and integrations according to specifications which he or she has
gathered from customers, either individually or leading a team of
other colleagues.
- Manages technical aspects of customer proof of concept
implementations, liaising with sales colleagues to ensure a successful
sale
- Works closely with Chief Architect and other members
of senior management to plan ongoing feature development, product
maintenance, and delivery of new versions to customers
- Identifies enhancements to Adaptive software by analyzing
and identifying areas for optimization or refactoring
- Authors technical and end user documentation as well
as unit and functional tests
- Investigates new technologies and techniques and
researches ongoing industry developments
- Mentors junior consultants in best practices, procedures,
and concepts
- Roughly 40-50% of time spent on-site with customers
Skills and Expertise
- Modeling using entity relationship diagrams (ERD)
and Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Model-driven and data-driven software
- Data management, data warehousing, business intelligence
and ETL tools
- Enterprise Architecture and process modeling
- XML-related technologies including XSLT
- Portal/Sharepoint, wiki, mashup and Web 2.0-based
solutions for information delivery
- Project planning and management, including requirements
and business analysis
- Mediation between business-oriented customers and
technical development teams
- Strong consulting background including managing
customer expectations
- Proven ability to communicate with senior managers,
including C-Level executives
- Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork,
and leadership skills
- Innovative and effective application of new technology
Desired Levels of Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or
equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years java, or 8+ years general programming experience
- 8+ years experience in the complete software development
lifecycle
- 4+ years experience with Oracle or any other RDBMS
- 3+ years experience in Web Services, or 8+ years
of enterprise development experience
- 8+ years experience in source control, unit testing,
code verification, documentation, automated build, continuous integration,
metrics, and code reviews
- 4+ years experience in user interface or web development
- 4+ years experience in the regulated
financial or insurance industry
